Maps & Mazes

Original framed ink drawing inspired by a beautiful piece of literature from The Road, by Cormac McCarthy:

“Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery.”

220 x 220 mm – this was hand crafted by me in August 2016 and has been with me in my studio ever since. I am finally starting to upload a few of the original artworks I have in my home studio due to requests from my loyal followers. I am sharing these pieces at more affordable prices in order to find special new homes for them instead of being wrapped up in a box in my home studio. Everyone should have a chance to own an original artwork.
