My darling sister, Hanneke Barlow, has been running her own accounting business for a few years and has had incredible success so far. She approached me last year to redesign her logo, corporate identity and website to grow her business even further. It was such a pleasure to not only work with my sister but with my fiancé, Sean Campbell – my favourite web developer, of course. Sean has been building some incredible websites, including my own, and I am beyond proud to see the growth in his own freelance journey. Since the launch the www.digitsaccounting.co.za website this weekend, Hanneke has signed three clients already. Success!
“Kindled from the French word raconteur, meaning storyteller, Conteu Magazine is a collection of stories that celebrate the makers, honour the thinkers and inspire the adventurers.” – Megan & Chloe
“Digital design is like painting, except the paint never dries.” – Neville BrodyA few years ago I started working with the immeasurably talented local interior architect, Wouter le Roux, who was in the process of opening one of the original stores at The Watershed, V&A Waterfront. I created a beautifully minimalistic corporate identity for his carefully curated local ceramic collective called Hello Charlie. Over the years we have worked on multiple projects together and he is the face behind my Design Indaba Emerging Creative stall, SABC3 Expresso Show exhibit and finally my beautiful Atelier in Woodstock.
“I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares, as opposed to ugly things. That’s my intent.” – Saul Bass, Graphic DesignerJessica Stafford is the lovely face behind well-known Instagram icon @jessbinxx, an exceptionally talented self-taught photographer as well as a medical student based in Cape Town. Her brand has grown significantly in the last year and she approached me to design a logo for her a little while ago. We gathered at my Atelier one Saturday morning and reflected on her visual concepts for the design process. Using my signature aesthetic I came up with a few hand crafted options for her and she allowed her followers to vote on which one they preferred via her Instagram account. The design below was therefore chosen through this unique selection. I have been infatuated with Graphic Design since I was fifteen years old and it was such a pleasure working with this talented soul.
