Embrace

This year has sparked such personal growth in not just my life, but in my work as well. Especially in the projects and collaborations that I accept and pour my heart into. Last year my illustrations revolved around taking a rape survivor and attempting to transform the way she viewed her body through photography and artworks. It was such an intimate process and it’s one of my biggest passions in life. To be able to use my art platform to initiate honest, raw conversations not just between women in general, but to those secret conversations taking place in our minds as well.

Wedding Invitations

If you had to visually translate my heart, this would be it. It is my humble opinion that a physical invitation is a gift that you offer to all of your loved ones that will make the time to attend your wedding, travel very far sometimes and most likely have to spend quite a bit of money. Rebrand | Digits Accounting

My darling sister, Hanneke Barlow, has been running her own accounting business for a few years and has had incredible success so far. Sean has been building some incredible websites, including my own, and I am beyond proud to see the growth in his own freelance journey. Since the launch the www.digitsaccounting.co.za website this weekend, Hanneke has signed three clients already. Success!

Graphic Design 101

Starting a new brand is hard. I would know all too well. It is an incredible amount of work, money, time and effort and in the end it might not work out. You have to figure out your target market and make really tough decisions that might cost you along the way.

Hello Charlie

“Digital design is like painting, except the paint never dries.” – Neville Brody
A few years ago I started working with the immeasurably talented local interior architect, Wouter le Roux, who was in the process of opening one of the original stores at The Watershed, V&A Waterfront. I created a beautifully minimalistic corporate identity for his carefully curated local ceramic collective called Hello Charlie. Over the years we have worked on multiple projects together and he is the face behind my Design Indaba Emerging Creative stall, SABC3 Expresso Show exhibit and finally my beautiful Atelier in Woodstock.
